Why Masks? I mentioned yesterday that I ordered a couple of masks from Innisfree. I’ve never tried any beauty product aside from the basic facial wash (if that counts as a beauty product), day cream, baby powder, and lip balm. I became curious about masks when I saw some coworkers list them as one of their Secret Santa wishes.
One sleepless night with Google and a hundred magazine and blog sites later, I had a pending order with BeautyMNL (Good job, by the way!) for these Innisfree masks (One thing you need to know is that it’s very easy to talk me into getting involved in little things like this hahaha!):
They’re Here! The green one is a sleeping massage mask while the brown one is a volcanic cluster clay mask. I don’t know the difference between a massage mask and a clay mask. In fact, I’m so unfamiliar with the industry that it took me around 15 minutes just figuring out how to arrange all those nouns in the product names.
Packaging The packaging is surprisingly nice. I read some reviews before I ordered these that they were poorly packaged so I expected that too. Apparently that’s not the case anymore. You have the tight-fitting lids plus these protective seals underneath:

Again, this is absolutely the first time I’m trying these things. What I know about what they’re made of, how they work, and how I’m supposed to use them are all from Innisfree (pages for the Green Tea pack and for the Volcanic Cluster pack) and BeautyMNL.
Green Tea Sleeping Mask According to Innisfree, the Green Tea sleeping mask contains fresh Jeju green tea and green tea seeds. These are rich in amino acids, minerals, and oil that hydrate the skin and lock in moisture. The natural ingredients in the capsules are also supposed to brighten the skin tone with their antioxidants. I chose this because my face is a little dry and definitely needs all the extra hydration it can get.
Volcanic Cluster Clay Mask The Volcanic Cluster mask, on the other hand, contains Jeju volcanic clusters according to the website. These are expected to clean out the pores by absorbing excess sebum. I chose this because I have blackheads on my nose.
How Do I Use Them? Tonight I’m trying out the sleeping mask. I already massaged some on my face. I didn’t really know how much to put. I imagined it had to be like other masks, where you sit for a few minutes looking like a badly frosted cake. This one is different, though. I’m not sure if it’s because of the ingredients, the formulation, or the fact that it’s a sleeping mask. The formula is so lightweight and gets absorbed by the skin pretty quickly.
How Often Do I Use Them? As to how often this should be used, Innisfree suggests nightly application. I’m going to do it once a week for now, though, because I’m still testing it out and I want to see what the changes will be, if any. I want to see when the results will start showing and how long they’ll stay that way. I’ll alternate between this and the clay one over the next few weeks and babble here if anything happens.
