The Body Shop’s Japanese Cherry Blossom EDT

I ran out of fragrance last week and hauled myself to SM North to buy a new bottle. I usually alternate between Love by Lucy Torres for Bench and Elizabeth Arden’s Green Tea perfume. I was on my way to Bench when The Body Shop’s “50% OFF” displays charmed me into heading towards their fragrance racks.

I officially betrayed Elizabeth Arden and Bench by buying a bottle of The Body Shop’s Japanese Cherry Blossom EDT. It originally retails for a little under P1500 and I got it for less than P750.

According to their website  this is “made with hand-picked, cold-pressed cherry blossom petals, sweet magnolia and comforting hinoki wood.” Sounds girly.

Packaging It comes in a very feminine-looking glass bottle. Its shape is not too kikay kit-friendly, though (in my case, at least). Good thing I somehow found enough space for it in my kit. But then again, my kikay kit is probably big enough to carry furniture, so I guess that’s not surprising.

My hand is also still getting used to its shape. I got so accustomed to thin fragrance bottles that fit my small hands that after several days of using this product, I’m still learning how to spritz some areas without accidentally dropping the beautiful bottle. But that’s not an issue at all.

Scent It smells exactly as delicate and lovely and girly as it looks! I’ve never smelled cherry blossoms, magnolias, or hinoki wood, but I sure love this scent that apparently comes from them. It smells fresh and feminine. Furthermore, it’s never overwhelming even when newly sprayed. The best thing, by the way, is that I don’t need to reapply. I spray in the morning and the scent lasts me an entire day in the office! I’m sure the effect will be different on other skin types and under different environmental conditions, but I have really yet to use this elsewhere because I’m a boring work-home kind of person. Haha!

I hope The Body Shop doesn’t discontinue the Japanese Cherry Blossom line. I easily get so attached (I’m looking at you, The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, who got rid of the heavenly cheese muffin when I wasn’t looking.).
